Communion at

Church of Ascension

Communion, or the Holy Eucharist, is a central element of worship at Church of Ascension, embodying our connection with Christ and each other. It is a time of reflection, thanksgiving, and renewal as we partake in the bread and wine, symbols of Jesus’ sacrifice for us.

At Church of Ascension, we celebrate communion with openness and inclusivity, inviting all baptized Christians to participate, regardless of denomination.

Understanding Our

Communion Service

At Church of Ascension, our communion service is designed to be a reflective and inclusive experience that welcomes all baptized Christians to participate in this sacred rite. It is a moment to come together as a community, share in the grace of God, and reaffirm our faith.

This section will help you understand the significance of our communion practices, who can participate, and what you can expect during the service.

The Meaning of Communion

Communion is more than a ritual; it is an act of worship that expresses our faith in Jesus Christ and our unity as His body. By partaking in the Holy Eucharist, we remember Christ’s life, death, and resurrection, and we anticipate His promised return.

This sacred practice is a means of grace, where we encounter God’s love and are spiritually nourished.

Who Can Participate

In keeping with our inclusive and welcoming spirit, Church of Ascension invites all baptized Christians to receive communion. We believe that this table is not ours, but the Lord’s, and it is He who invites you.

If you are baptized, regardless of your denominational background, you are welcomed to join us in this holy sacrament.

What to Expect During Communion

During the communion service, participants are invited to come forward to the altar. You will receive a piece of bread, which you can dip into a chalice of wine, or receive wine from a common cup.

If you prefer not to partake in wine, you may simply cross your arms over your chest to receive a blessing instead.

Our aim is to make communion a meaningful and accessible experience for everyone in attendance.

Experiencing Communion Together

We encourage everyone in our community to experience the profound spiritual impact of participating in communion. Whether you are a regular attendee or a visitor just beginning to explore your faith, communion at Church of Ascension is an opportunity to grow closer to God and each other.
