Exploring Our Music Program

Church of the Ascension has maintained a tradition of excellence in sacred music since its founding in 1886. Music at COA exists for the following:

• Lead people in the worship of God
• Proclaim the Gospel of Jesus Christ
• Provide for the musical training and Christian formation for children and adults
• Enrich the cultural life of the community

The music program at COA features Royal School of Church Music (RSCM) affiliated choral ensembles (the COA Choir, the Treble Choristers), occasional special events showcasing sacred music, and the historically significant, Létourneau pipe organ, totals: 4,182 pipes, 69 stops, 72 ranks, 2 consoles (Chancel and Gallery).
